Hope Squad

Hope Squad is a peer-based suicide prevention program that empowers students to support their peers, promote mental wellness, and connect those in need with trusted adults. At Green Canyon High School, our Hope Squad members are trained to recognize warning signs of distress, provide a listening ear, and encourage students to seek help when needed. By fostering a culture of kindness and awareness, Hope Squad helps create a safer and more supportive school community.

How Hope Squad Works

  • Student-Led Support: Hope Squad members are nominated by their peers for being trustworthy and compassionate.
  • Mental Health Awareness: Members receive training in recognizing signs of emotional distress and suicide prevention strategies.
  • Connecting to Resources: Hope Squad members do not act as counselors but help guide students to trusted adults and professional resources.
  • Promoting a Positive School Culture: Through awareness campaigns and outreach, Hope Squad encourages kindness, inclusion, and open conversations about mental health.

Need Help? You’re Not Alone

If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out to a Hope Squad member, a school counselor, or a trusted adult. You can also use SafeUT, an anonymous 24/7 crisis support app, or check out our Student Wellness Resources for additional help.

Together, we can make a difference!
