Academic Awards
At Green Canyon High School, we recognize and celebrate the outstanding academic achievements of our students. Through a variety of prestigious awards, we honor graduating seniors who have demonstrated excellence in scholarship, leadership, and dedication to their education. From achieving a perfect GPA to excelling in rigorous coursework and extracurricular activities, these honors highlight the hard work and commitment of our top scholars.

GCHS Scholar
These are graduating seniors who have a 4.0 GPA. They will be honored at graduation and may participate in the graduation program.
GCHS Valedictorian & Salutatorian
Each year GCHS will select the top two academic seniors for these awards. The top seniors will be the valedictorian and the next one will be the salutatorian. They will both speak at graduation. Students will be selected for these awards based on the following criteria:
- GPA 4.0
- ACT Score of 30%
- Class Rigor 70%
GCHS Top Scholar
Every senior who has at least 3.85 GPA may apply for this award. Five students will be selected for this award, with one being the Top Scholar and the other four will be Runner-Ups. All five may be asked to participate in the Graduation Ceremony. The GCHS Top Scholars will be identifies according to the following criteria:
- GPA (Class Rank) - 20%
- ACT - 20%
- Extra-Curricular - 30%
- Class Rigor (Weighting) 30%
