Green Canyon Community Council Meeting

● Review of Simple Motions of Parliamentary Procedure
● Minutes/Welcome - Ruth Seedall moved to approve the minutes, Wyatt McDaniel
seconded it
● Introduction of Alan Grunig from CCSD to committee members
Digital Citizenship - Kim Bagley, GC’s Librarian, serves as the liaison between students and
Digital Citizenship. Kim reported on the recent in-class assembly presentation she organized. It
was interactive, highly attended and very successful. It will be repeated next year.
Happenings at GC-
● Band - Incredible weekend state and nationals performances - First in State, 2A
Champions and 3rd overall in Multi-State and all school level overall competition.
Exceptionally warm and wonderful welcome from parents, students, and community with
police escort. Jim referred to the band as the “foundation of GC’s culture.”
● Sports - Football state playoff game against Skyline - Cinderella story for now - will play
against Crimson Cliffs on Friday.
● Academics - Reviewed US News Ranking - #16 in Utah school rankings, #7 in traditional
schooling, GC offers most AP classes in the district and honors program
Counseling update -
● Counselors have been visiting freshmen wolfpack academy classes teaching about CTE
class options and Pathways completer. Pack Picks is January 9th.
● Teri Rhodes - Recommended viewing recent district presentation on CTE program in
CCSD - we are doing above average for state
Veterans Assembly -
● Beautiful program planned, amazing school collaboration from students, band, choirs,
orchestra and more, two assemblies scheduled
Trustland update -
● Quick overview, money primarily goes to teacher salaries, funds are well used and
needed, we are fortunate to have them.
